At Alpha Alpine Self-Storage , we know how important it is for our customers to know that their belongings are safe and secure and that they can leave these belongings in our care when they return home. That is why we did our homework well. We conducted a thorough research with a view to ensure that only the best security measures are in place at our premises. We went the extra mile, so to speak, in order to ensure that we have measures in place above and beyond what you will normally expect from the self-storage industry. In the event that you conduct your own online research, you will note that you can in general expect the following security measures to be in place at a run of the mill self-storage facility:

Storage Units

Our 305 Storage Units of varying sizes are available to not only store your household or business goods and furniture, but are also custom built to provide a safe place for your caravan and boat. We even have two large (almost a warehouse size) units where you can safely store your belongings as well as your caravan and/ or boat. These units are not only brick fronted, but are fully built from brick and are even protected against the infiltration of dust by the dust flaps we have fitted to the front entrance of each unit.

The above measures alone will convince even the most security conscious customer that all is safe, but we were still not satisfied that we have done everything possible to ensure the safe storage of our customers’ goods, caravans and/ or boats.

After conducting our research, we put the following additional measures in place:

BIOMETRIC FINGERPRINT ACCESS CONTROL

 

In South Africa people in general gain access to their self-storage units by means of a disc or a tab or maybe by means of a numerical access code. At Alpha Alpine we realised that in order to stay one step ahead of intruders and robbers, we need to put in place a measure that is not already well-known and easily breached. We consequently installed an innovative Biometric Fingerprint Reader for access control. This Fingerprint Reader:

  • Is Tamper-proof
  • Recognises only your unique fingerprint
  • Controls entry to the premises effectively

The guard that provides the additional layer of security at the gate will immediately notice if the individual who wants access to the premises is indeed authorised to do so.

High quality Internet Protocol (IP) Cameras

 

These cameras are the state-of-the-art in CCTV cameras. They perform the following functions:

  • Perimeter Control
  • Auto tracking
  • Maximum visibility at night and during bad weather
  • Infrared technology
  • 360 degrees (endless) pan range
  • It tilts and zooms

Information is recorded to a computer and is monitored by a 24-hour

Outdoor Security Beams

 

These infrared beams perform the following functions:

  • Outdoor long-range infrared perimeter detection
  • Protection of wide areas of the buildings’ perimeter
  • Creates a multi-layered security “blanket” that detects intruders and sounds the alarm
